Sandra Denton-Deputy Headteacher

I joined Ocklynge in September 2012 after having worked in the East End of London for thirteen years.

I am delighted to be part of this vibrant school and aim to support the many initiatives which enable our pupils to enjoy a broad, balanced and stimulating curriculum.

My main passion is literature and I aim to expose children to good quality texts at every opportunity. I have even been known to quote Shakespeare in P.E lessons!

Adam Wood-Head of Year 3

I have been head of year 3 since 2011 after being head of year 5 since Easter 2005 having previously worked as a class teacher at Ocklynge.

Prior to Ocklynge, I worked as a secondary school link teacher in year 7 and before that in the primary sector.

Zoe Linzey-Head of Phase

I joined Ocklynge in September 2017 having worked at 3 other local primary schools.  I am delighted to be working at Ocklynge in the new role of Upper Phase Leader.  I currently lead year 5 and 6 as well as well as working on whole school initiatives.

Sylvia Berhane-DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead)

Hi my name is Sylvia Berhane. I've been at Ocklynge Junior School for over 10 years now - first as head of year 4 then head of year 5. I have just returned from a year's secondment supporting a school in Peacehaven as a headteacher. Before Ocklynge I taught at a variety of schools, from East London to a small country village school to an international school in Ethiopia!

I've always enjoyed teaching and I love the way children think and learn! Outside of school, I love travelling and reading.

Jon Reynard-Headteacher

I have been waiting with great anticipation to start as Headteacher here at Ocklynge. It is a job that I have aspired to for many years and as such it’s a dream come true to be here and to lead this brilliant school forward.

I have been a  headteacher in East Sussex for approximately 17 years first at Broad Oak CP School in Heathfield and then at Seaford Primary School where I was headteacher for almost 13 years.  I am very much looking forward to working alongside you all in improving and developing the education for all the children.
