We wanted to give a big shout-out and well done to our amazing #TeamYear6, who have been exploring their exciting #BigQuestion this term in #DT: 💡 “How do I design a children’s playground❓” Throughout the term, our learners have been investigating what playgrounds contain and how to design and evaluate structures effectively. They’ve developed key skills and knowledge, including: ✅ Selecting the right structure for different play apparatus. ✅ Using tools, techniques, and materials safely and independently. ✅ Applying joining and reinforcement techniques. ✅ Choosing cladding and testing products to ensure they’re fit for purpose. ✅ Designing landscapes with natural and man-made features. This hands-on project has challenged our Year 6 learners to think like real designers – considering safety, functionality, and creativity in their playground designs. From creating single footprints for multiple structures to evaluating their final products, they’ve shown incredible problem-solving and innovation!🛠️🎠 📢 Miss Nightingale, Head of #TeamYear 6, said: “I’m so proud of how Year 6 approached this project.
