TERM 6 NEWS: DOUBLE ‘CHILD OF SUSSEX AWARDS’ SUCCESS FOR #TEAMOCKLYNGE – HARRISON (YEAR 5) & BEAU (YEAR 6)!

What an incredible evening and an extraordinary achievement for two of our amazing Ocklynge children recently!🏆🌟 We are absolutely delighted to share that Beau C (#Class6K) and Harrison B (#Class5H) were both recognised at the Child of Sussex Awards, hosted by More Radio, after being selected as finalists from nominations submitted by our school team. Even more excitingly, both children were named winners in their respective categories on the night! 🎉👏🏆 The ‘Child of Sussex Awards’ celebrate young people who make a positive difference through their character, determination and contribution to their communities. Beau and Harrison were nominated because of the resilience, positivity and commitment they demonstrate every day as valued members of our school community. Both children consistently approach school life with enthusiasm, kindness and a willingness to embrace opportunities, making a lasting impression on staff and fellow pupils alike. 🤩 📢Mrs Bodé, Deputy Headteacher, said: "We were delighted to nominate Beau and Harrison because we are incredibly proud of their resilience and consistently positive attitudes towards school. Both children have demonstrated determination, kindness and a willingness to embrace every opportunity that comes their way." 📢Miss Carlton, Inclusion Manager, added: "It was a privilege and a joy to be invited to attend the awards ceremony and witness them being recognised for their achievements. Seeing Beau and Harrison win in their respective categories was a fantastic moment for everyone involved and a testament to the hard work, perseverance and positivity they show every day." 📢The children themselves were overwhelmed by the recognition: 🗨️ Harrison (#Class5H) said: "I was really surprised when they called my name. I felt proud and happy.” 🗨️ Beau (#Class6K) said: "I couldn't believe I'd won! I was shocked at first, but really excited." We know that awards are never won overnight, and this recognition reflects the positive attitudes, determination and personal growth that both children have shown throughout their journeys at Ocklynge. Their achievements are a reminder that success comes in many forms, and that perseverance, kindness and resilience truly matter. 🤩🙌 As we come to the end of another school year, we could not be prouder of Beau and Harrison, and all that they have achieved. They are valued members of our school community who embody the spirit of belonging that sits at the heart of Ocklynge. Their success is a wonderful celebration not only of their individual achievements, but of the strength, support and encouragement that exists across our entire #TeamOcklynge family. Please join us in congratulating Beau and Harrison on this remarkable achievement. We are incredibly proud of them both!👏🏆🌟
