Friends of Ocklynge is the name of the School’s PTA led by a friendly group of parents/guardians of children attending Ocklynge School.
We volunteer our time to run a host of fun events for children at the School and their families, to bring people together and to raise funds for equipment and activities to enhance the education of all children at Ocklynge.
All parents, guardians and members of the school community are encouraged to get involved, even if you only have a small amount of time available. Getting involved is a great way to meet new people and have fun! Every contribution makes a real difference.
An elected Chair, Treasurer and Company Secretary lead a committee along with other trustees, supported by a wider Friends’ group, on behalf of all members (see below). We are a registered charity and members of Parentkind, the national PTA membership organisation.
A host of events are being planned throughout the year, including discos, parents’ quiz nights, a fireworks’ display, festive fun, second hand uniform sales and so much more (see below to stay up to date). Funds raised will be used for the benefit of all the children at the School and we will share regular updates about how the funds are used.

There are many ways you can get involved. Whether you can volunteer to help at one of our events, donate a cake (it doesn’t have to be home-made!), share other skills, or join the Friends committee, every contribution counts.
We are actively seeking match funding from banks and other companies, so please find out if your employers run a match funding scheme.
If you have any contact with local businesses who may be able to donate equipment or support us in other ways, please let us know.
